Kiteboarding Lessons
For your FIRST kiteboarding lesson we will prioritize shallow water and moderate winds. Depending on the wind direction, most kite lessons will be held out of BARRINGTON BEACH or FOGLAND. I am willing to travel to you for an additional fee of $100. I will need to do personal due diligence to determine if this is possible however. No fee charged for asking!
Kite lessons are wind and tide dependent, and having both of our schedules align with these conditions can be tricky. Please first email connor@windspotri.com or text/call 401.396.6890 any prior experience you may have, your availability, goals for kiting and where you’re located.
With proper instruction, equipment, and a step by step plan tailored to your individual goals, kiteboarding is very manageable and safe. I have taught hundreds of students ranging between from 11 years old to 70.
Lesson Structure
Private Lesson
$175/hour
Our 1-on-1 private lessons are the fastest and most personalized way to learn kiteboarding, with instruction tailored entirely to your pace, goals, and comfort level. You’ll get focused attention, real-time feedback, and a smoother path to riding confidently on your own.
(2 hour minimum)
6 hour package - $950
10 hour package - $1500
Semi Private Lesson
$225/hour
Our 2-on-1 lessons are perfect for friends, couples, or family members who want to learn together while still getting plenty of individual coaching. You’ll share the experience, push each other, and progress quickly with a great balance of personal attention and fun.

Group Lesson
$300/hour
Up to 4 people at a time! Group lessons are a really fun way to learn with friends or family in a group setting. Although you do sacrifice time with the kite, this is the most affordable way to learn (per person) and a great way to get other friends into the sport with you.

How do we teach?
Safety is our #1 priority for students when out on the water. Your instructor will be alongside you the whole way and will have radio communication to the student. Depending on the students skill level & preference, your instructor will either be kiting with you as a ‘ride along’ or following the student everywhere either along on the beach or in the water.
A typical 1st lesson would consist of 45 minutes on the beach prior to flying the kite. Immediately after that we will head into the water and you’ll first start piloting the kite, your instructor will be right by your side. Once you are flying the kite, we will practice a series of drills, theory and kite movement working you up to the board. Our goal is to get you riding as soon as possible, safely.
IKO (International Kiteboarding Organization) standards are followed when teaching to insure a safe and proven method is in place for students. Rhode Island is an amazing, but quirky place to kite. Our instructors are local and have spent countless years in the Narragansett Bay and the surrounding waters of New England.
We pride ourselves on having immense local knowledge and knowing the beauty but also threats Rhode Island has to offer. Being able to share our passion of water sports and demonstrate a new way to explore and enjoy Rhode Island is why we do this and something we look forward to everyday.
